Happiness
For me, volleyball is generally how I unwind from a long day at school. Sure, there are practices that don't go well and times when the coach is yelling but even through all of that, I feel less stressed and much happier after a volleyball practice or game. In the fall, unless I am at school, I am at volleyball and it makes me happy. So if I can be so completely happy when I am playing volleyball, then how can I continue to be happy when it's over. It happens every year, off season comes and normal life without volleyball pursues and I'm still happy. I am sure this is said for all of those who play a sport or who have a hobby that has an "off season". Just a random thought from the day as the season is halfway over already and it is crazy to think that I can find other equally awesome things to do with my time!

I understand the feeling that results from being unable to participate in a seasonal activity, but somehow I, too, cope. I enjoy leisurely bike rides during the spring through fall, but when the weather turns cold, I have to find some other method to get out of the house and chill. Some people I know get SAD (Seasonal Affecting Disorder), a minor form of depression brought on by unpleasant winter weather. I never get that problem, as I am at school and never get bored. My other hobbies, however, involve electronics and there is no off season...although there probably should be.
ReplyDeleteI joined bowling because even though there is an off season technically, I usually won't stop at all because of the ability to just live in the "here and now" while bowling instead of the over analyzing and over thinking life style that I have became accustom with.
